The minister of Justice and Solicitor General visited communities across the province to hear from residents, business owners, rural crime watch groups and local officials.
- Bill 27: the Trespass Statutes (Protecting Law-abiding Property Owners) Act was introduced on November 19, 2019 to strengthen protections for property owners and ensure trespassers face the proper consequences for their actions.
- Bill 19: the Corrections (Alberta Parole Board) Amendment Act was introduced on June 1, 2020 to create the Alberta Parole Board to provide a fairer, faster, more responsive and responsible justice system.
Additional actions continue to be considered as part of implementing our rural crime strategy.
