Overview
The Alberta government is committed to ensuring land and property rights decisions are fair, unbiased, well reasoned and timely. To achieve this goal, the province depends on the Land and Property Rights Tribunal (LPRT) to work diligently and effectively in delivering decisions and recommendations that affect landowners, municipalities, developers, industry and many others.
This review will help drive ongoing improvements and best practices, making sure the tribunal can continue to carry out its mandate and legislated responsibilities effectively and on time, while staying accessible to all Albertans.
Get informed
The LPRT is an independent, quasi-judicial tribunal established under Section 2 of the Land and Property Rights Tribunal Act.

Stakeholder engagement
The process review is being led by MNP, an external consultant with the expertise to assess the LPRT’s current processes from an unbiased perspective.
As part of the review, the consultant will invite landowners, municipalities, developers and industry to give feedback through a formal engagement.
Outcomes
Feedback will be carefully considered, and the business process review will help government develop better practices to make sure the LPRT’s work is done efficiently and effectively.
