Cooler temperatures and rain showers have helped to decrease the wildfire danger in the Calgary Forest Area to low. Widespread and substantial rain is forecast across the area which will help to suppress the wildfire danger in the short term.
Wildfire activity
There are currently no active wildfires in the Calgary Forest Area. Since January 1, 2025 there have been 25 wildfires which have burned 33 hectares. During this period of low fire danger, wildland firefighters from the Calgary Forest Area will be assisting on wildfires burning in central and northern Alberta. Sufficient resources will always be maintained in the area, ready to respond to any new wildfires.
