The Alberta Next Panel connected with Albertans to chart a path forward for the province.

Overview

The Alberta Next panel brought together a broad mix of leaders, experts, and community voices to gather input, discuss solutions, and provide feedback to the Alberta government on how Alberta can better protect its interests, defend its economy, and assert its place in Confederation.

The panel asked the big questions shaping our future, from our relationship with Ottawa to bold proposals like collecting our own personal income taxes, reforming equalization, and even amending the Constitution.

Town hall meetings

The Alberta Next Panel toured the province to hear from Albertans on how our province can better protect ourselves from Ottawa’s attacks, while building a more prosperous, strong and sovereign Alberta within Canada.

Alberta Next panel members

The Alberta Next panel included retired judges, elected officials, economists, and policy experts with real-world experience in both provincial and federal matters. Their task was to explore how Alberta can better assert its constitutional jurisdiction, especially over natural resources, taxation, the justice system and the delivery of social services.
