Overview
The Alberta Industry Skills Grant (AISG) supports industries across Alberta to address skill shortages or gaps through industry-driven training opportunities and provides industry-wide benefits to meet current and emerging workforce challenges.
Applicants are required to review the Alberta Industry Skills Grant Applicant Guidelines, form and template for eligibility and selection criteria and for assistance in completing an application.

Funding
Eligible grant projects can receive a minimum of $300,000 and a maximum of $1.5 million in grant funding.
Eligibility
Applicants must be a/an:
- for-profit employer
- industry/sector association
- employer organization or community economic development organization
- union
- post-secondary institute (PSI)
- private career college
- training provider
To ensure training is relevant, the lead applicant must be an organization that can demonstrate capacity to effectively deliver workforce development projects.
How to Apply
The Alberta Industry Skills Grant (AISG) is administered through a competitive Call for Proposal process. Eligible applicants may apply anytime from September 9, 2026 to October 30, 2026. Once the intake period closes, all applications will be evaluated. No updates will be provided during the evaluation process. Successful applicants will be notified of funding approval.
Step 1: Review the Alberta Industry Skills Grant information it includes: the (AISG) Applicant Guidelines, the Call for Proposal Applicant Form and the budget template.
Step 2: Prepare your Call for Proposal grant application package
The package must include all of the following:
- Alberta Industry Skills Grant (AISG) Call for Proposal Applicant Form
- AISG Itemized Budget Template
- letters of Project Support and/or Partner Commitment
Step 3: Submit the Call for Proposal grant application package by email
The application package must be submitted via email to [email protected].
Applications must be received by October 30, 2026, at 3 pm Alberta Time
The email subject line should be “[Your Organization Name]: AISG Call for Proposal”. Hard copies will not be accepted.
Submit your questions
Applicants are encouraged to submit questions, including inquiries about the Call For Proposal, to [email protected] until October 7, 2026, at 3 p.m. Alberta Time. All questions received will be addressed and posted within the Applicant Guidelines for all potential applicants’ use and awareness by October 9, 2026.
- Questions must be submitted through the general email inbox at [email protected]. Failure to follow this process may result in delayed, inaccurate, or unanswered inquiries.
- To ensure transparency during the CFP period, all questions and responses will be posted publicly; however, any personal or organizational identifiers will be removed to protect privacy.
- Questions received after the question submission deadline will not be considered or answered.
