We are gathering feedback from stakeholders to help us review Alberta’s Agri-Processing Investment Tax Credit and find ways to improve results while reducing red tape.

We want to hear from key stakeholders about their experience with the tax credit, including what is working and what challenges or barriers exist.

Alberta’s Agri-Processing Investment Tax Credit supports large-scale investment in value-added agriculture and food processing. The tax credit aims to attract new and expanded processing facilities, helping create jobs, strengthen supply chains and grow the province’s economy.

The Agri-Processing Investment Tax Credit provides a 12% non-refundable tax credit for corporations and registered partnerships that invest $10 million or more in new or expanded processing facilities.

These investments support local farmers and producers, attract investment in value-added processing and help secure long-term jobs for Albertans.

Key stakeholders with direct experience or demonstrated interest in the Agri‑Processing Investment Tax Credit will be contacted directly by email and invited to complete a survey by June 30, 2026, to share feedback about their experience with the tax credit.

Outcomes

Feedback may help inform improvements to the Agri‑Processing Investment Tax Credit.
