Description: This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo has issued a Wildfire Alert.

A mandatory evacuation order has been issued for all community members of Fort Chipewyan including the Mikisew Cree First Nation, Fort Chipewyan Metis Nation and Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation.

Area: This alert is in effect for: Hamlet of Fort Chipewyan, Mikisew Cree First Nation, Fort Chipewyan Metis Nation and Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation.

Affected areas (4):

• Allison Bay 219
• Dog Head 218
• Chipewyan 201A
• Wood Buffalo

Action to take:

• All community members must evacuate
• This is a phased evacuation starting with all community members of Allison Bay
• Everyone must evacuate immediately
• Report to the Archie Simpson Arena
• Bring important documents, medication, food, water and supplies for at least 7 days
• Take pets with you

• This alert will be updated when Phase 2 evacuations can begin
