Nova, born in 2018, is a sweet, happy little girl who goes through life with a huge smile on her face. Affectionate and kind-hearted, she loves a good hug. Enthusiastic and active Nova has an adventurous nature and is always up for swimming, participating in gymnastics, playing outdoors and camping. Her creative side is also very clear in her love of crafting, beading, singing, building with Lego and exploring music and games on her tablet. A true girly girl, Nova loves to wear dresses and jewellery. In her quiet time, she is happily engaged reading books and doing puzzles.
Nova is in a regular school program where she has an adapted curriculum and benefits from dedicated support to meet her learning objectives. An encouraging approach along with a healthy dose of redirection helps her to transition when it is time for a non-preferred activity! Nova enjoys school, loves riding the bus to school and is well-liked by her peers. She is described as a bright child who knows her own mind. Her excellent memory is noted as a particular strength, with her favorite storybooks known by heart!
The family best suited to this loveable child should have lots of time, patience and love to offer. Nova would do very well as the only or youngest child in the home with a family able to support her in gaining independence skills at home, school and in the community would be wonderful as would a family who can ensure she is connected to specialized support services now and as she matures. Nova’s best interests will also require a commitment to seeing connections maintained and strengthened with extended family and her cultural heritage.
