Karson and Cruz are wonderful boys who share a caring and close connection and who are deserving of a fun, committed and loving forever family where they can grow up together.
Karson, born in 2012, is an outgoing and friendly young person with a kind and loving disposition. As the older of the 2, Karson looks out for his little brother and works hard to be a good role model. Karson has a few good friends and is most comfortable in smaller groups both at school and at Scouts. Camping, drawing, reading and playing with nerf guns are favorite activities. The big smiles though are reserved for any time he can spend with pets, loving as he does the unconditional affection they give and receive. His appreciation of animals is such that he wants to pursue zoology as a career!
Karson is in a regular school program where he achieves at an honours level. His preferred subjects are math and science, which works out well for his goal of becoming a zoologist. He is enjoying the greater independence of being in junior high, and welcomes being able to walk to and from school on his own. Staying organized now that he moves from one class to the next is a work in progress but it’s coming! His quiet and empathetic nature is appreciated by students and teachers alike.
Cruz, born in 2018, is a curious and energetic youngster who is known to be funny and playful. His interests and favorite activities are typical of a boy his age – with camping, watching movies, building with Lego, doing puzzles and playing games such as chess keeping him engaged and happy. He is currently tickled about his growing skill at badminton! He loves being a helper and is proud when his efforts are appreciated.
Cruz has benefited from early intervention programming and is now achieving well in a regular school program. With support, Cruz’s confidence has grown and he is making good progress with both his literacy skills and ability to manage his feelings. Recess and non-structured times are his favorite as he happily and easily engages with his friends and classmates.
The fortunate family to embrace Karson and Cruz will need to be committed to their maintaining relationships to their younger sibling and extended family. The ability to connect them to any support services that may benefit them now and in time would also be important to their growth and wellbeing. Adaptable as they are, the boys’ needs could be well met within a single or 2-parent family, with or without other children in the home.
