Adoption profile – Jayden

Jayden, born in 2012, is a funny, kind-hearted and musical young person with a bright personality and an active imagination. He’s a positive thinker who enjoys talking about the future and often shares his hope of one day having a family of his own. 

Jayden is very task oriented and likes knowing what’s expected of him. He takes pride in completing jobs and enjoys feeling appreciated for his contributions. Having a strong sense of justice and fairness, Jayden values his voice being heard and appreciates adults who take the time to listen to his thoughts and opinions.

Jayden really shines when he has the chance to help or take the lead. His confidence grows with every opportunity he’s given to take on responsibility. Creative and curious by nature, Jayden loves imaginative play, music and hands-on activities as well as video games. Jayden also has a knack for taking things apart and putting them back together. 

At home and in the community, Jayden is always ready to help, whether it’s assisting in the kitchen, working in the yard, or providing IT support to those who need it! He recently started snowboarding through a school club and is having a great time learning something new.

Jayden is in a regular school program where he benefits from supports for his learning as well as social and emotional development. Jayden does well with short, clear directions and being offered choices, as this helps him feel a sense of control. Cooperation and successful interactions are enhanced when he is given options and the opportunity to make independent choices. Encouragement and structure have been key in growing his confidence and willingness to try new things. 

Jayden would truly shine in an adoptive home that provided him with patience, understanding and plenty of love.

Jayden would do well in either a one or two parent family and could be successful in a home with older or younger children. Parenting experience would be an asset, along with a willingness to access and support any specialized resources Jayden may need now and into the future. Jayden shares strong and meaningful connections with his brothers and grandparents. Maintaining these important relationships is essential to his wellbeing and best interests. Jayden also looks forward to simple, shared moments with his forever family, including playing video and board games together.

Giving Jayden a home with consistency, stability and care will position him to grow into a confident and capable young man.
