Aiden, born in 2015, is a kind and gentle boy who enjoys keeping busy and sharing his happiness through smiles and laughter. Physically active, he likes bike riding, running, swimming and being towed around in his kayak. Music delights him and he is especially fond of the song ‘Hey Jude’ by the Beatles. Predictability is important to him and Aiden will often ask ‘first and then?’ to ensure he is clear on what is expected and happening next. He is a joy to be around and responds well to positive reinforcement and being given choices.
Aiden is in a school program where he is provided specialized and dedicated support for his learning needs. He has made great gains with his communication and can express himself using words, gestures and pictures. His understanding of letters and numbers is growing as well and he is proud about being able to write his name, simple words and numbers up to 20. Aiden will let you know when he doesn’t want to continue with a task but will finish with grace if given encouragement and assurance that he can do something more fun once he’s done! Aiden is working hard to achieve his potential and is a well-liked member of the classroom.
Aiden does best in a calm and structured home setting and responds wonderfully to patience and loving attention. A single or 2-parent family with or without other children in the home that can provide stability, nurturance and support will suit him well and will be fortunate in the affection and cuddles he loves to give. Aiden’s family will encourage his potential and capacity for independence now and through adulthood. Ensuring he is connected to specialized programming will be to his benefit as will ensuring he can remain connected to extended family.
