Description: Update 6: The wildfire in Mackenzie County has crossed Highway 35 north of Steen River and this highway is barricaded 7 km north of Steen River. Anyone in this area must leave the area and travel south on Highway 35. Persons leaving this area can go to the Heritage Centre in LaCrete. Smoke will create hazardous driving conditions in the area.
The evacuation orders for this wildfire remain in affect for Mackenize County, High Level, and Dene Tha First Nation. Instruction: Everyone in the Steen River area must leave the area and head south on Highway 35, as the Highway is barricaded north of that area. The public must remain out of all evacuated zones in the Mackenzie County, High Level, and Dene Tha First Nation area. Visibility will be poor in certain areas so caution must be used.
