Adoption profile photo of Ryder and Alexander

Alexander and Ryder are sweet, loving little fellows who share a strong connection to one another and who will bring affection and fun into the lives of their forever family.

Alexander, born in 2022, is a cute pre-schooler who prefers playing calmly on his own over playing in groups. He loves giving and receiving affection, one-on-one attention, listening to music, watching cartoons, being carried and snuggling with a trusted adult to read some picture books. Construction and hands-on activities are his favorite, such as building with Lego, pretend cooking with play-dough and playing with cars and trucks. Alexander will usually have a comfort object to carry around that helps him to feel secure and calm. When overwhelmed or tired, Alexander’s upset is managed well through quiet time, redirection and calm attention. Alexander attends daycare where he manages well without naps and loves snack time!

Ryder, born in 2021, is a gentle, curious and content child who responds readily to kindness, consistency and patient support. He happily follows direction and will communicate his feelings and needs through a creative combination of words, gestures and facial expressions. Social by nature, Ryder is a good playmate who invites others to play and shows a natural ability to connect with those around him. An active and energetic youngster, his preferred activities include running, playing tag, climbing and jumping! During quiet time he delights in building with Lego and doing puzzles. He is a devoted older brother to Alexander and is always ready to offer him attention and comfort.

Ryder attends an early intervention pre-school program where he especially likes circle time and being with his peers. As with many little ones his age, transitions are a work in progress but with support he adapts to new activities and expectations.

The ideal forever family for these endearing brothers would be an active and energetic two parent home where they could receive lots of affection, structure and attention. Alexander and Ryder would also benefit from either being the only or youngest children in the home. The family that commits to them should be prepared to connect them with specialized services they might need now and in time, and to make sure that they can continue to spend meaningful time with their grandparents and other family members.
