Description: This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. The MD of Opportunity has issued a Wildfire Alert.

SWF092 wildfire is burning to the southeast of the community of Red Earth Creek. The fire has shown significant growth this evening and is now approximately 10 kms from Red Earth Creek. With the forecasted winds and the intensity, the fire is anticipated to push towards the community. A one-hour evacuation notice has now been put in place for the Community of Red Earth Creek. NO evacuation is required at this time.

Area: This alert is in effect for the community of Red Earth Creek.

• Opportunity No. 17

Action to take:

• Everyone in the affected area should prepare for a possible evacuation
• Gather pets, important documents, medication, clothing and supplies for at least three days
• Fuel is available at the MD Shop
• This alert will be updated if an evacuation is required
