Description: This is an Alberta Emergency Alert.

SWF85 wildfire is burning 6 km west of the Chip/Alpac road and is currently 2900 ha in size. There is no threat to the community at this time. With the winds forecasted to change direction, intensity and smoky conditions will develop in the area. A one-hour evacuation notice has now been put in place for the Community of Chipewyan Lake. NO evacuation is required at this time.

Area: The MD of Opportunity No.17 is issuing a Wildfire Alert for the community of Chipewyan Lake.

• Opportunity No. 17

Action to take:

• Everyone in the affected area should prepare for a possible evacuation
• Gather pets, important documents, medication, clothing and supplies for at least three days
• Fuel is available at the MD Shop
• A transportation bus will be staged at the MD Shop if needed
• This alert will be updated if an evacuation is required
