Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - Wildfire Alert Updated
Due to extremely dry conditions and unstable wildfire activity, the Town of Slave Lake is on an 8 hour Evacuation Alert. This is not an Evacuation Order.
The Town is not in imminent danger however residents should be prepared to evacuate on short notice. Please ensure your have any medications or prescriptions, drinking water and food and fuel in your vehicle. You may want to bring identification, passports,insurance policies and other important documents. Please consider arrangements for your pets should you be required to leave the community. Slave Lake is not accepting any further evacuees as we are at capacity. We recommend new evacuees follow the directions issued under the Evacuation Order for your community or proceed to Edmonton. High Level Evacuees should stay in Slave Lake.
Action to take:
- Prepare for possible evacuation
- Take all necessary precautions
- Close doors, windows and vents
- Seek medical attention if you experience breathing difficulties
- Follow the directions of local authorities.
