Description: There is a wildfire approximately 22 km west of Edson located south of Marlboro and Hwy 16. Highway 16 has been reopened as of 12:00 AM May 20,2019. Several residences in the area have been evacuated.
Several homes have been evacuated and Yellowhead County Protective Services are working with other agencies for firefighting and evacuation. Protective Services are in the area to assist with the evacuation. A reception centre has been set up at the Best Western Hotel in Edson (300 52 St, Edson, AB). Residents who are being evacuated can check in at the reception centre. Evacuees can call 1(833) 334-4630 for information.
