Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - High Water Level Alert Updated

Updated 30 Apr 2018 @ 1800: The large ice jam that was affecting the Athabasca river, in the area of Pride Valley East of Fort Assiniboine mostly released today. Water levels are beginning to fall, however the area is still being impacted by too much water to allow any safe access and the SOLE remains in place.

There is a large ice jam affecting the Athabasca river, in the area of Pride Valley East of Fort Assiniboine where a State of Local Emergency was declared at 0741 on Sunday, 29 April 2018. 4 Residences have been evacuated. Barricades and signs are in place. People are asked to please avoid the area. Field staff continue to monitor the situations and will update residents as the situation changes. Please avoid the area. If you encounter an area that requires immediate attention, please contact Woodlands County at 1 888 870 6315. Updates will be posted on our website at www.woodlands.ab.ca.
