Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - High Water Level Alert

There are high water levels in streams, rivers, and other bodies of water that may create dangerous situations or lead to flooding. There are also a number of ice jams affecting the Athabasca river, in addition the river has risen rapidly over the past hour in the area of Pride Valley East of Fort Assiniboine.

As a precautionary measure residents in the lower Pride Valley area are being asked to evacuate as a number of roads are underwater. Barricades and signs are being placed. Please avoid the area. If you encounter an area that requires immediate attention, please contact Woodlands County at 1 888 870 6315. Field staff are monitoring the situation and updates will be posted on our website at www.woodlands.ab.ca.

  • Leave the area if it is safe to do so
  • Avoid rivers, valleys and low lying areas
  • Follow the directions of local authorities
  • Take all necessary precautions
  • Avoid the area
  • Listen for further updates and follow the instructions that apply to your area.
