Overland flooding is impacting areas throughout Greenview resulting in road closures and hazards. The DeBolt area has had additional closures in the past 24 hours. Barricades and signs are being placed at affected roads. As conditions improve and locations are approved to reopen by Operations Staff barricades and signs will be removed.

Field staff will be responding to flood concerns that come in over the weekend, contact the area supervisor for your region included in the Flood Update on our website. Go to www.mdgreenview.ab.ca for a list and map of affected roads. Road closure locations and further updates will be posted as they become available. Information is being updated on a daily basis.

Action to take:

  • Use alternate routes and obey posted signs
  • Do not bypass or move barricades or travel through water covered roads as there may be hidden hazards including washouts and erosion
  • Drive with extreme caution
  • Be aware of areas known to flood easily such as streams, drainage channels and canyons
  • Listen for further updates and follow the instructions that apply to your area.
