Description: Alberta Emergency Alert: County of Forty Mile Overland Flood Alert Updated
There is a large amount of snow melt water travelling across land. This is leading to localized flooding, water flowing over and eroding roadways. Travel through low areas may be hazardous.
Last updated 21:45 April 17, 2018 This is an update and the hazard will not be mitigated in the short term. There is overland flooding occurring within the County. Over 40 roads have been closed and many others have been compromised. Do not bypass or move barricades or travel through water covered roads as there may be unforeseen hazards. Operations staff continue to develop plans for the coming days including evaluation of risk areas and operational requirements. Please call 403-867-3940 if your home is being impacted or find an unmarked hazard.
