Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - Wildfire Alert In The Hilda Area Of Cypress County Updated
Cypress County Emergency Services and fire crews continue to manage the fire and hot spots on both sides of Highway 41 in the area of the hamlet of Hilda. Residents have been asked to evacuate the area.
Residents of the Hilda area are asked to go to the Medicine Hat Lodge, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, to spend the night if they do not have a place to stay with relatives or friends. Highway 41 north has now been opened up to both north bound and south bound traffic in the Hilda area within Cypress County. People are advised to avoid the area if at all possible, as visibility may be limited due to smoke and darkness.
