While in Montreal, Premier Smith will meet with decision makers in Montreal’s financial sector and lead conversations with Montreal business leaders and investors spanning eastern Canada’s insurance, engineering and construction, real estate, energy, agriculture and technology sectors. These meetings will provide Premier Smith a platform to advance strategic partnerships to fast-track and break ground on nation-building infrastructure and resource projects for energy, critical minerals and more.
In Ottawa, Premier Smith will meet bilaterally with federal officials to discuss shared priorities.
In Toronto, the Premier will make an address at the Eurasia Group’s 2025 U.S.-Canada Summit where she will highlight the important role Alberta plays in North American economic and energy security. The summit will convene lawmakers, businesses and experts from across the U.S and Canada to explore solutions to address global economic, sustainability, geopolitical and trade challenges.
During this trip, the Premier will also meet with Prime Minister Mark Carney and with Ontario Premier Doug Ford.
“I look forward to finding new opportunities for progress, partnership and collaboration that will strengthen our economy and create lasting prosperity for Canadians nationwide. As Canadians, we must come together to aggressively knock down barriers and invest in our future to build a stronger, more resilient country for generations to come.”
Alberta, Quebec and Ontario have diverse economies with natural synergies across sectors like transportation and logistics, technology and innovation, mining, and agri-food, which will help set the stage for enhanced collaboration, expanded export capacity and increased job-creating investments.
This latest mission to eastern Canada will build on progress that Premier Smith made when she met with private sector leaders in Montreal and international representatives in Ottawa in April, as well as in her regular engagements with other premiers, and both Canadian and U.S. officials this year.
Mission expenses will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.
