As part of efforts to explore the potential of nuclear energy to meet Alberta’s growing electricity demand, Minister Neudorf will travel to the U.K. from Aug. 27 to Sept. 11 to attend the World Nuclear Symposium in London. At the symposium, Minister Neudorf will connect with representatives from jurisdictions with established nuclear industries and promote Alberta’s energy sector to industry leaders and partners.

Minister Neudorf will also meet with utility industry leaders and experts to discuss investment opportunities and share common energy challenges, solutions and technical developments. The minister will also participate in Canada-UK Nuclear Day 2025, organized by the Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce, and a tour of nuclear facilities organized by the UK Department for Business and Trade.

“Alberta’s government is working hard to secure an affordable, reliable and sustainable energy future and nuclear can play a key role. Gatherings like this one are an excellent opportunity to connect with international partners and I look forward to learning more about the potential of this technology and how it can fit into Alberta’s energy mix.”

Nathan Neudorf, Minister of Affordability and Utilities

Minister Neudorf will travel with two staff members. Mission expenses will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.
