From Sept. 9 to 21, Minister Sawhney will meet with post-secondary institutions, government leaders and industry organizations from Ireland, Germany and France to promote Alberta as a world leader in post-secondary education, skilled trades and research and innovation.
Amid a rapidly growing and diversifying economy, Alberta’s government is committed to helping students get the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the economy of tomorrow. By working with international post-secondary institutions, government bodies and industry, Alberta’s government can learn from their experience and develop strategies to strengthen in-demand skilled trades programs and apprenticeship education.

Advanced Education’s mission to Europe will showcase the great potential for partnerships and international co-operation with Alberta’s world-leading post-secondary institutions.”

- In partnership with Advanced Education, the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology established the Alberta Bureau for International Education, or ABIE, a not-for-profit organization that will support growing Alberta’s international education sector.
- In 2021, Alberta launched the ‘Alberta 2030: Building Skills for Jobs’ strategy to ensure that current and future generations have the skills, knowledge and competencies they need to succeed.
