Alberta’s unique deregulated electricity market, abundant natural resources, and competitive tax system drive investment and innovation. By promoting Alberta as a premier destination of choice for investors, Alberta’s government is encouraging economic growth and ensuring the province continues to be a leader in new technology.
The ministers will meet with leading artificial intelligence and data centre companies to discuss the growth and development of next-generation data centres. While in Santa Clara, the ministers will also meet with energy companies, government officials, and utility providers to build valuable connections with key decision makers, explore mutually beneficial policies, and advance Alberta’s priorities.
“This is an excellent opportunity to promote Alberta as a prime location for AI data centres, strengthening both our power grid and our economy. I am also looking forward to meeting with several key players in California’s energy market to discuss common challenges and solutions as we continue to modernize Alberta’s electrical system.”
“As a world leader in artificial intelligence, we have an opportunity to leverage computing capabilities and technological infrastructure in Alberta, including next-generation data centres, to draw global investment to our province. I look forward to sharing Alberta’s story and working with potential investors to bring their facilities here.”
Minister Neudorf will travel with two staff members. Minister Glubish will travel with three staff members. Trip expenses for the ministers will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.
