On May 29, 2019, pursuant to Sec. 46.1 of the Police Act, ASIRT was directed to investigate the admission of a male to hospital after an interaction with officers of the Lethbridge Police Service. ASIRT’s investigation is now complete.

On May 22, 2020, pursuant to Sec. 46.1 of the Police Act, ASIRT was directed to investigate the admission of a female to hospital after an interaction with officers of the Calgary Police Service. ASIRT’s investigation is now complete.

ASIRT’s mandate is to effectively, independently and objectively investigate incidents involving Alberta’s police that have resulted in serious injury or death to any person, as well as serious or sensitive allegations of police misconduct.
