As Alberta proceeds with relaunching the economy, government is committed to supporting vulnerable Albertans during the COVID-19 pandemic. Select day services at Hope Mission and the Mustard Seed are expected to be available as early as this weekend, with more services coming online in the days and weeks to come.
“I am thankful to the EXPO Centre and all our community partners for providing a vital resource during the height of the pandemic. We know COVID-19 is still with us and vulnerable Albertans continue to be impacted. This transition to 24/7 access ensures individuals have access to a safe place to stay during the day and other vital services such as food, showers and laundry.”
Isolation and care will continue to be provided at the EXPO Centre until August 14. Government is working with community partners to find an alternate site for isolation and care.
Alberta’s government continues to work closely with municipalities, homeless shelters and community organizations across the province to develop a long-term plan that protects vulnerable Albertans through the winter months.
