Many areas in Ukraine have been devastated by the ongoing Russian war, including damage to electrical and energy equipment. Funding from Alberta, provided to Energize Ukraine, will help cover essential costs like parts, shipping, labour and machinery to support the installation of this urgently needed electrical and energy equipment in the hardest-hit Ukrainian communities.
This investment in Ukraine’s energy infrastructure comes on the heels of a memorandum of understanding signed by Premier Danielle Smith and German Galushchenko, Minister of Energy of Ukraine, in February 2024 to establish closer collaboration and support in the energy sector. Through that agreement, Alberta is endeavouring to provide help that meets Ukraine’s urgent energy needs. This includes supplying energy equipment and supporting services to repair networks and critical energy infrastructure.

Energize Ukraine is a global coalition established by the Ukrainian World Congress with a proven track record of successfully assisting the people of Ukraine in rebuilding their electricity systems to endure the ongoing war.
This financial support will enhance Energize Ukraine’s efforts to work with local Ukrainian companies and non-governmental and charity organizations to cost-effectively purchase and transport to Ukraine energy equipment such as solar panels, bushings, fuses and circuit breakers, and co-ordinate installation in schools and hospitals where it is needed most.
