There is an out of control fire burning north of the community. Current weather forecasts show the wind changing direction early this evening which could turn the fire in the direction of the community. Whitefish Lake First Nation #459 is issuing a 2 hour evacuation alert

Area: The alert is in effect for the Whitefish River Community Utikoomak Lake IR #155A

• Utikoomak Lake 155A

Action to take:

• This is only an alert
• Be prepared to evacuate on short notice
• Pack important documents, medication and enough clothes to leave for 3 days
• Follow instructions from community Emergency Management staff and listen/watch for community social media posts for updated information
