Description: This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. The Kee Tas Kee Now Tribal Council has updated a wildfire alert.

Whitefish Lake First Nation #459 still requires everyone in the community of Whitefish River to be prepared to evacuate within 2 hours of notification, in case an evacuation of the community is required. The wildfire burning north of the community is still out of control. 

Area: This alert is still in effect for the Whitefish River Community Utikoomak Lake IR #155A.

• Utikoomak Lake 155A

Action to take:

• There is no evacuation required at this time
• Everyone must stay prepared to evacuate on short notice
• Pack important documents, medication and enough clothes to leave for 3 days
• Follow instructions from community Emergency Management staff and stay tuned for community social media posts, local media and Alberta Emergency Alert for more information as it becomes available
