Description: This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Sturgeon County has expanded its wildfire alert to include the Town of Redwater.

The wildfire burning near the Redwater Rec Area continues to grow, and residents should be ready for possible evacuation on short notice.

Area: The evacuation order is still in effect for Range Road 213 East to Range Road 203 and between Township Road 580 South to Township Road 573.

Affected areas (2):

• Sturgeon County
• Redwater

Action to take:

• Everyone previously evacuated must remain evacuated
• Residents east of RR 223 to the North Saskatchewan River and between Township Road 580 and Township Road 570 must prepare for a possible evacuation
• Stay tuned for more information
• The reception centre at Pembina Place in Redwater is closing
• If you are told to evacuate, go to the Morinville Leisure Centre at 25126 Highway 642
• No further evacuations are required at this time
• Stay tuned to local media for updates if an evacuation is required
