Description: This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Big Lakes County has expanded the Evacuation Area due to Wildfire.
A wildfire is moving west through the Gilwood area.
Area: This alert is in effect for everyone in Big Lakes County South of Highway 2, East of Range Road 185, North of Township Road 740, West of Range Road 183, and West of Highway 749.
Affected areas (2):
- Big Lakes
- High Prairie
Action to take:
- Everyone in in the impacted area must evacuate now
- Everyone else must be prepared to evacuate on short notice
- Check the map on attached to this alert and the AEA App to confirm if you must evacuate
- Bring pets, important documents and medication, and enough food, water, and supplies for at least 3 days
- Go to the County website and Facebook page for info
