Description: This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. The Town of High Prairie has updated a Wildfire Alert.
There is a wildfire moving north towards the Town of High Prairie. Big Lakes County has issued a 60 MINUTE EVACUATION ALERT FOR THE TOWN OF HIGH PRAIRIE.
Affected areas (1):
- High Prairie
Action to take:
- Everyone in High Prairie must be prepared to evacuate within one hour or less
- If an evacuation order is issued there will be a Reception Centre in Slave Lake, Alberta
- Residents must PREPARE to evacuate with 60 minutes notice
- Gather pets, important documents and medication, and enough food, water, and supplies for at least 3 days
- Further instructions will be given to those directly impacted
- Citizens are to monitor www.biglakescounty.ca, the Big Lakes County Facebook page, and the Alberta Emergency Alert website for additional information.
