Area: This alert is in effect for areas northeast of Swan Hills, along Highway 33.
Description: There is a wildfire burning east of Highway 33, North of Swan Hills, between Stoney Creek and Island Creek. The fire is moving northwest toward Highway 33. The fire has not yet come into contact with Highway 33.
Instruction: Everyone along Highway 33, between Swan Hills and Highway 2 must prepare for a possible evacuation. Gather pets, important documents and medication and enough food, water and supplies for at least 3 days. This alert will be updated if an evacuation is required. Stay tuned to www.alberta.ca/emergencyalert and local media for updates.
