Description: This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Big Lakes County has issued a Wildfire alert.

There is a wildfire burning east of Highway 33, North of Swan Hills, about halfway between Swan Hills and Highway 2. The fire is moving northwest toward highway 33. The fire is expected to reach the highway around 4:00AM on Friday, May 5.

Area: This alert is in effect for areas northeast of Swan Hills, along Highway 33.

Affected areas (1):

• Big Lakes

Action to take:

• Everyone along Highway 33, between Swan Hills and Highway 2 must prepare for a possible evacuation
• Gather pets, important documents and medication and enough food, water and supplies for at least 3 days
• This alert will be updated if an evacuation is required
