Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - Wildfire Alert

Due to wildfire activity in Mackenzie County, there are 2 areas that need to be prepared to evacuate on short notice. Everyone north of the Peace River to Township Rd. 1110, west of Range Rd. 120, and east of Highway 35 south of High Level is the first area. The second area is everyone south of the Peace River to Township Rd. 1040, west of Range Rd. 120, and east of Steep Hill Creek.

Ensure vehicles are fueled and ready to go, important documents and identification are gathered, and personal items including prescriptions are ready should there be a need to leave quickly. Food and water should be taken and plans made for family pets and livestock. Clean areas around structures of flammable materials. Turn off appliances and propane tanks. If you have live stock, cut fences between them and water sources, no harnesses or bridles that may get caught up in brush, mark sides of animals with your social insurance number or cell phone number for ease of identification. Action to take:

  • Everyone in the area north and south of the Peace River from Township Rd.1040 north to Township Rd.1110, west of Range Rd
  • 120 to Highway 35 south of High Level, and Steep Hill Creek, must be prepared to evacuate on short notice
  • Fuel vehicles, gather documents, prepare food, water, and make plans for family pets
