Description: Grave Flats Road in Yellowhead County has become extremely dangerous and is restricted access to emergency vehicles only. While public access remains open to the Whitehorse Wildland park campsite and the Prospect Creek Staging area, a location further south sustained damage that has warranted the temporary closure to the public. This limits access thru to the Cardinal Divide.
While the road surface remains intact at this location, the fill located immediately downslope moved, resulting in a very unsafe condition until repairs can be made. Teck is beginning remediation and repairs today, however it is anticipated that the closure will continue thru this upcoming weekend. There will be an as soon as access can be safely reopened.
