  • Alert: Jun 11, 2018 at 05:07 PM

Area: Slave Lake

Description: There is a storm occurring with strong winds, and high rainfall.

With the Heavy rainfall the Sawridge Creek is rising rapidly. It is expected to rise overnight. The Town crews are monitoring levels and checking bridges for debris. The Town is also arranging for pumps and vacuum trucks for flooded areas. Several of the storm water flood gates, to the creek, have been closed to prevent water from backing up from the creek into the Town. Sanitary sewers and lift stations are at maximum capacity. Vacuums trucks are being used to supplement. Please check your basement for sewer back up. The Town crews are working to remove fallen trees off road ways and sidewalks as best they can. If you have a fallen Town owned tree, or trees blocking roadways and sidewalks, please call the town office 780 849 8000 and report the address and any damage. This includes any trees that are in danger of falling. Residents are also encouraged to stay back from trees that have been barricaded.

Instruction: Take all necessary precautions. Follow the directions of local authorities, and listen for further updates, or visit www.slavelake.ca
