The Champion Lakes area wildfire in the Mclean Creek Public Land Use Zone of Kananaskis Improvement District remains out of control. Due to forecasted winds, people in the area are advised to remain prepared to evacuate on short notice. No evacuation order is in effect at this time. Smoke in the area may impact air quality, and access to the Mclean Creek area is restricted at this time.

Action to take:

• Avoid travel in the area of Mclean Creek Public Land Use Zone, Highway 762, and Highway 549 west of its junction with Highway 762
• Also avoid travel west of Bragg Creek on Highway 66
• People should avoid backcountry travel in areas around Mclean Creek Public Land Use Zone and the Elbow Valley.
