Minister Boitchenko and representatives from Travel Alberta will lead a strategic tourism mission from Nov. 8 to 14 to promote Alberta as a premier year-round destination. He will meet with airlines, tour operators and other key partners to create opportunities to increase visitation and visitor spending to the province.

The mission will build on Alberta’s tourism strategy, focusing on strengthening relationships with key international partners, supporting increased air access and promoting Alberta’s landscapes and experiences to travellers in France and Germany.

“France and Germany are important tourism markets for Alberta. By strengthening our relationships with airlines, tour operators and industry partners, we can welcome more visitors, grow Alberta’s visitor economy, support Alberta businesses and jobs, and share Alberta’s story with the world.”

Andrew Boitchenko, Minister of Tourism and Sport

While in France, Minister Boitchenko will represent Alberta at a meeting with Canada’s Ambassador to France and at a Remembrance Day ceremony at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial.

Mission expenses will be posted on the Alberta government’s travel and expense disclosure page.
