Alberta is investing almost $16 million in five projects through the Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction fund. The investment will help innovators bring technologies to market, creating economic opportunities, strengthening industries and advancing practical emissions-reduction solutions.

From converting captured carbon dioxide and hydrogen into plastics and other everyday products to developing sustainable fibres from Alberta-grown hemp, these projects are advancing practical technologies with applications across Alberta and beyond. Other initiatives will expand hydrogen-fuelling infrastructure for commercial vehicles, develop lower-emission concrete for construction and advance next-generation hydrogen production technology that uses no water and produces no carbon dioxide.
