Alberta's Municipal Affairs Minister, Dan Williams, is meeting with elected officials from more than 92 Alberta municipalities over the next two weeks to hear directly from municipal leaders, discuss local priorities and celebrate projects that are helping communities grow and thrive. The visits will provide an opportunity to learn more about local priorities and see how communities are putting provincial funding to work.

The tour will include visits to communities that have been allocated almost $200 million in capital funding through the Local Government Fiscal Framework (LGFF) in the last two years. These funds are invested in local priorities, including emergency service equipment, transportation infrastructure, community facilities, recreation amenities, public works equipment and community safety improvements. Provincial funding programs like the LGFF provide communities with predictable and flexible support to address core needs and deliver the infrastructure and services residents rely on every day.

Throughout the tour, Minister Williams will meet with local leaders to discuss community priorities, regional growth, infrastructure needs and opportunities to continue strengthening Alberta's local governments. Ongoing collaboration between Alberta's government and local governments helps ensure communities have the tools and flexibility they need to address local priorities and support residents.
