These changes will ensure cabinet is prepared to continue advancing Alberta’s agenda of economic growth, stronger health care, safer communities and affordability for families.

The updated cabinet includes both experienced and newly appointed ministers who will continue delivering on the priorities that matter most to Albertans, including growing the economy, strengthening front-line services, keeping communities safe and supporting Alberta families.

Members taking on new roles include:

  • Minister of Affordability and Utilities, RJ Sigurdson
  • Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Tara Sawyer
  • Minister of Assisted Living and Social Services, Nathan Neudorf
  • Minister of Hospital and Surgical Health Services, Adriana LaGrange
  • Minister of Primary and Preventative Health Services, Justin Wright
  • President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance, Jason Nixon  

Additionally, Brandon Lunty will serve as the chief government whip. Scott Cyr, MLA for Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St. Paul will serve as the parliamentary secretary for transportation and strategic development.

Premier Smith also thanked departing cabinet ministers, the Hon. Nate Horner and the Hon. Matt Jones, for their dedicated service to Albertans. These members have announced they will not be seeking re-election in 2027 and have agreed to step aside to allow new ministers to transition into the role in advance of the 2027 election.

Since 2023, Alberta’s government has helped create more than 277,000 jobs, attracted billions in new investment, expanded capacity across the health care system, funded additional surgeries to reduce wait times, built new recovery communities, invested in schools and classroom supports, and taken action to keep taxes low for Alberta families.

Cabinet members will continue working collaboratively to stay focused on Alberta’s priorities and deliver practical results for families, workers, businesses and communities across the province.
