“Small Business Week is a time to celebrate the passion, resilience and innovation of Alberta’s entrepreneurs. Local businesses are the backbone of our economy, employing hundreds of thousands of Albertans and driving new opportunities across the province. When small businesses succeed, Alberta thrives.
“Representing more than 95 per cent of all businesses and employing nearly 35 per cent of private sector workers, small businesses play a key role in economic growth, diversification and community development. Nearly one in four people living in Alberta is starting or has recently launched a business; proof of our province’s strong entrepreneurial spirit.
“Alberta’s government is committed to equipping small businesses with the tools and services they need to thrive at every stage of their journey. Through initiatives like Biz Connect, Alberta’s small business owners and entrepreneurs can access essential tools, expert guidance and practical resources to launch and grow a successful business.
“As we mark Small Business Week, let’s take a moment to recognize the meaningful contributions small businesses make to our communities. The role they play is often vital to helping local youth learn meaningful skills that carry them throughout their career. And whether it’s everyday purchases or your holiday shopping, buying local keeps more dollars in the community, strengthening the local economy and supporting neighbours, friends and families.
“In today’s economy, supporting local business is more important than ever to build long-term resilience, boost productivity and competition and shape a stronger, more prosperous future for all Albertans.”
