Shane Getson, MLA for Lac. Ste. Anne-Parkland will meet with U.S. legislators, officials and Members of Congress in the U.S. capital for the Pacific NorthWest Economic Region (PNWER) 2025 Capital Visit. This latest mission will give MLA Getson face time with key U.S. federal and state legislators so he can build on the province’s consistent efforts to reinforce Alberta as the solution to North American energy, food and data security challenges.

While in Washington, D.C, MLA Getson will participate in targeted meetings with legislative leaders from Montana, Alaska, Idaho and Oregon. MLA Getson will also present Alberta’s point of view on economic corridor development, trade and investment and opportunities for collaboration across sectors. Conversations will be guided by efforts to find natural synergies that will ensure our economies continue to produce the high-quality jobs and goods that Americans and Canadians rely on.
PNWER is a non-partisan, public/private partnership that was established in 1991 to advance the economic well-being, quality of life and common interests of its 10 member jurisdictions, which include the states of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Washington, the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan, and the Yukon and Northwest Territories.
