From Oct. 1 to 4, more than 45,000 fans will pack the stands in Rogers Place to cheer on Canada’s top rodeo athletes as they compete to win national titles and bring home new buckles. The CFR has taken place in Alberta for more than 50 years, showcasing the province’s western spirit and boosting the local visitor economy.
Alberta’s government invested $1.5 million in this year’s Canadian Finals Rodeo, as part of a three-year commitment of $4.5 million to support hosting the event in Edmonton from 2024 to 2026. Last year, CFR50 attracted more than 42,000 spectators and generated more than $32 million in local economic activity. This event is expected to host 120 athletes and deliver big for Edmonton’s economy and Alberta’s tourism sector by supporting more than 5,500 jobs and filling more than12,000 hotel rooms.

The CFR is a national championship made up of two categories: Rough Stock and Timed events for a total of eight different competitions. Headliner events include bull riding, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, bareback and barrel racing. Each event is filled with heart-pounding action where top athletes compete for a chance at the national title.
