MLA Getson will be attending the Ports-to-Plains Alliance 2025 Annual Conference to speak on the importance of enhancing economic corridors to grow barrier-free trade between Alberta and the U.S. He will also discuss opportunities to streamline trade corridors and improve north-south connectivity between Alberta and the U.S. via the Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor. These discussions align with Alberta’s broader efforts to boost internal trade and the movement of goods from east to west, including expanded access to export markets through tidewater.

The annual Ports-to-Plains conference focuses on enhancing economic security and trade opportunities across the region by sparking collaborative work to improve essential transportation infrastructure networks. The conference brings together policymakers, industry leaders and businesses from nine U.S. states, including Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Nebraska and Wyoming.
