“Today, we recognize the deep roots, enduring spirit and vibrant culture of Alberta’s Ukrainian community, which has helped shape the social, economic and cultural fabric of our province for more than 130 years.
“From the earliest pioneers who tilled prairie soil and built strong rural communities, to today’s leaders in business, education, the arts, public service and beyond, generations of Ukrainian-Albertans have contributed immeasurably to our shared prosperity and identity.
“Their legacy is one of resilience, unity and a strong cultural identity – values that continue to guide and inspire Albertans across all walks of life.
“As we celebrate the many contributions of Ukrainian-Canadians to Alberta and Canada, we also reflect on the heartbreaking reality that millions of Ukrainians remain affected by Russia’s ongoing, unprovoked invasion.
“Our thoughts are with those who continue to defend their homeland, those who have sought refuge, and all Albertans with family and friends impacted by this conflict.
“Alberta continues to stand in unwavering solidarity with Ukraine and its people, and with the proud Ukrainian-Canadian community whose strength, compassion and courage remain a source of hope and inspiration.”
“Slava Ukraini!”
