“Today, we recognize Canadian Armed Forces Day and honour the service, sacrifice and dedication of all who serve and have served, as well as the families who stand behind them.

“Alberta is home to a strong and enduring military presence, and we are honoured to recognize the invaluable contributions of our soldiers, sailors and aircrew who defend our freedoms and protect our nation.

“For more than a century, members of the Canadian Armed Forces have demonstrated exceptional courage, professionalism and resilience. They have defended Canada’s skies, supported allies abroad, led peacekeeping missions and delivered life-saving aid in times of disaster. Whether responding to wildfires in Alberta or providing relief across the globe, their commitment to service remains unwavering.

“Their sacrifices have earned our deepest gratitude and lasting respect. We thank those who continue to serve today, ensuring Canada remains strong, secure and ready for the challenges ahead.

“I encourage all Albertans to explore Alberta’s history by visiting heritage attractions across the province. Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans and their immediate families receive free admission to provincially owned historic sites, museums and interpretive centres with their CF One card.

“On behalf of the Government of Alberta, I extend heartfelt thanks to all current and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces. Your service is deeply valued, and your sacrifices will never be forgotten.”
